PURGE 3-year-old colt MACIAS scored a powerful victory and he became a three-time stake winner in the $61,500 Baffle Stakes going six and one-half furlongs down the hillside turf course at Santa Anita.
MACIAS has been very versatile in his young career. A maiden winner going six furlongs over the Cushion Track, he won the Jack Goodman Stakes over the same course and distance next out.  | | SEEKING MS SHELLEY ( ) | | Friday, February 05, 2010 | | Dream Walkin' Farms Inc.'s homebred SEEKING MS SHELLEY, who has never been out of the money in her seven lifetimes starts, scored the fourth victory of her career in the 6th race at Fair Grounds, a five and one-half furlong allowance over the fast main track.
The chestnut daughter of CACTUS RIDGE with the full white blaze was fifth in the early going, but she steadily moved up between foes around the far turn. Four fillies lined-up at the top of the stretch and SEEKING MS SHELLEY gamely outran them all through the stretch to win by three-quarters of a lengths.
SEEKING MS SHELLEY is trained by Joe Duhon. She was foaled in Oklahoma by the Slew o' Gold mare, Seeking Miss Slew. |
