Adding blinkers and making her first start on the turf in over a year, DESIRE AND FIRE went straight the lead and lulled the field to sleep. She galloped along unchallenged and had a clear lead when the closers launched their bids coming off the turn. She still had plenty in the tank and she cruised in under wraps to win by two lengths.
