From the first crop of a Champion Freshman Sire he is out of a mare who has g rade one sires in each of her first two dams. KODIAK KOWBOY is inbred 5 x 5 to Mr. Prospector, a broodmare sire line that has supplied four of Posse's stakes winners. At this distance it would appear viable to try KODIAK KOWBOY back over mares by sons and grandsons of Mr. Prospector. KODIAK KOWBOY is out of a mare by a son of Forty Niner and it may be worth considering mares by sons of that horse getting a double of Forty Niner along with a daughter of his sire. Posse already has stakes winners out of mares by Forty Niner sons Twining and Tactical Advantage and Distorted Humor would be another source of that line. Posse also has a stakes winner out of a mare by a son of Crafty Prospector. It should also be worth introducing Mr. Prospector through the Fappianobranch with Cryptoclearance being particularly interesting or through mares which are either bred on the Mr. Prospector/Northern Dancer cross or by stallions bred on that cross. It could also pay to try KODIAK KOWBOY with mares descending from Mr. Prospector's sire Raise a Native through Alydar and Exclusive Native. KODIAK KOWBOY stems from the Northern Dancer line but this strain will be in the sixth generation of his foals so breeding KODIAK KOWBOY back over mares from that line is well worth considering. Silver Deputy has actually sired nine stakes winners out of Northern Dancer line mares. He appears to have a strong affinity for mares carrying Northern Dancer through his son Nijinsky II particularly through Green Dancer. He has also worked with Northern Dancer through Nijinsky II's three-parts-brother Far North, Dixieland Band (an influence who might particularly be good here and who is most notably sire of Dixie Union) and Lyphard. Northern Dancer should also be good here through Storm Bird, Storm Cat, The Minstrel and Fanfreluche, dam of the sires D'Accord, L'Enjoleur and Medaille d'Or. Mares by stallions bred on the Northern Dancer/Mr. Prospector cross are who are themselves products of that cross should also do well. Icecapade a three-quarters relative to Northern Dancer is from the immediate family of KODIAK KOWBOY's broodmare sire and would be worth introducing through either the Wild Again or Clever Trick/Phone Trick branches. Posse is out of a mare by Rahy who in turn is out of Champion Glorious Song a daughter of Halo. He has 2009 two-year-old stakes winner Kinsolving out of a mare by Straight Man who is by Glorious Song's brother Saint Ballado. This suggests other sons of Saint Ballado and his brother Devil's Bag (with Devil His Due appearing particularly interesting). Beyond that any strain of Halo likely to be a positive. From the same Hail to Reason male line as Halo, Silver Deputy has also scored with Roberto through Dynaformer, Kris S., Silver Hawk and with Stop the Music through Cure the Blues. KODIAK KOWBOY's broodmare sire Coronados Quest is out of a three-parts-sister to Private Terms (who would be very good here through Afternoon Deelites). This is a branch of the Damascus line that horse would also be interesting here through Gilded Time. Other stallions that would reinforce the excellent female line of Coronado's Quest include Fusaichi Pegasus, Pine Bluff (who looks very good) Buckfinder and On to Glory (in Louis Quatorze). Silver Deputy has been extremely good with mares descending from Bold Ruler particularly through Bold Ruckus, What a Pleasure and his son Foolish Pleasure and Spectacular Bid. Silver Deputy also does well with mares descending from Bold Ruler's sire Nasrullah through Never Bend and Star de Naskra (who is in the male-line of the dam of Posse's 2009 two-year-old stakes winner Comedero). Posse is sire of a graded stakes winner out of a mare by Copelan a stakes winner out of a mare by Lord At War (ARG) also the broodmare sire of a Champion by Silver Deputy and a stakes winner by Meadowlake, a son of Hold Your Peace from the Prince John sire line (especially valuable here as he is from KODIAK KOWBOY's own female line). From the In Reality line he has a stakes winner out of a mare by Valid Appeal.
