The latest sire sensation by A.P. Indy, Congrats is the Leading Freshman Sire of 2010 (to 11/14/2010). He is also co-Leading Sire of individual winners and stakes performers.

Congrats is bred on the same cross as Pulpit and Malibu Moon, the leading sire sons of A.P. Indy, and like him, out of mares by Mr. Prospector. A.P. Indy has enjoyed tremendous success with mares by Mr. Prospector, and Pulpit and Malibu Moon, have both already sired grade one winners when bred back over Mr. Prospector line mares. We can note that Congrats is already sire of a grade one placed horse out of a mare by Thunder Gulch (by Gulch). Mr. Prospector via Fappiano is in the male line of two Pulpit graded stakes winners, and his son Quiet American is the broodmare sire of A.P. Indy's Champion, Bernardini. Rubiano (broodmare sire of a graded winner by Mineshaft, another A.P. Indy/Mr. Prospector cross) would be another good source of Fappiano, while Congrat's brother, Flatter, has a graded winner out of a mare by Unbridled, and a stakes winner out of a mare by that horse's three-parts-brother, Pentelicus.

Other Mr. Prospector line horses which are broodmare sires of stakes winners by A.P. Indy include Seeking the Gold, Machiavellian, Afleet, Silver Ghost, and Distinctive Pro. Look also for mares by stallions bred on the Mr. Prospector/Northern Dancer cross, sources including Kingmambo, Fusaichi Pegasus, Elusive Quality, Grand Slam and Smoke Glacken. A.P.
